We opened our doors for our official opening in November 2012 with the Mayor of Faversham coming along to cut the ribbon. Our clinic is owned and run by therapist Marcia Tillman who has worked from many clinics around the town since 2002 when she set up her private practice.
Marcia’s vision was to open a purpose built clinic close to the town centre of Faversham where other therapists running their own businesses could work from so everyone could support each other. When she initially looked round the building it was pretty much in a derelict condition and had been purchased by a property developer who wanted to restore the old Chapel providing some business and residential accommodation.
Marcia worked with the architect to design the clinic to best meet the needs of the therapists that would use it and the clients that would visit. Following which over the next year a lovely space was created within the old Methodist Chapel. In July 2012 Marcia excitedly collected the keys and moved her full time practice to Abbey Place and set about finding some other practitioners to join her and Abbey Place Clinic was born.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength and we have now built up a team of eighteen *independent self employed therapists and practitioners that work together within this lovely location.
